Fireproof Fire
What are the requirements for access to the garage door of a house?

I live in Vallejo, California. I have a door between the house and garage to meet "local needs". Anyone have an idea of the specifics of their watching? I think it must be fireproof or fire. But what I see? I want to make this right. Thanks in advance.

Most codes require a fire rated door now between living space and an attached garage. Has a label on the side of the door hinge and also in the frame with the fire rating. Most fire doors are also insulated, which is a plus. If you have room, install a 36 "door. It is easy to transport material in and out. I have mine to swing in the garage, but if yours does not, you need a landing type side garage, 3 'x 3' minimum. Install a sturdy lock and you're set. Hope this helps.

Is it legal to go on a fire escape in New York City?

I just moved to New York and I want to go to the Fire relief to see the scenery and fresh air, hot weather, but I live just opposite a police station and not accused of something I want so anyone know if it's illegal to be there?

I never had problems with it. Just do not put all your stuff fire escape. It is, after all, a fire escape, no terrace. The police are very relaxed around here. Call 311 and ask if you're worried (New York information).
